Be You
Learn to listen to your body.
If you donāt want to go out tonight because you arenāt feeling great or you donāt want to damage your body because you care for your health, donāt. If you donāt want to consume because you are content within your normal state of mind, donāt. If you donāt want to hang out with those people anymore because they no longer bring you the same excitement or purpose into your life anymore, donāt. If youāre happy in the present moment but see everyone else on their phone and feel obligated to go on too, donāt.
Learn to respect yourself enough to go against peer pressure. Have your own mind. Weāve become accustomed to following trends and whatever majority of people are doing in order to fit in. In doing so, we lose a bit of ourselves and suppress down our own inner-voice or intuition out of the fear of not being liked or accepted by our peers. Over time, due to repeated action, we start to lose that knowledge of ourselves and want we truly want. We suppress our soul needs for others, whether itās for convenience, not wanting to miss out, or to fit in. We begin to lose touch of who we truly are and become immersed with the numerous amount of society. No longer able to identify where our own boundaries and ideas end and where another personās begin.
There are 7 billion people on this planet, why would you want to be like anyone else? Being unique and genuine is what gets peopleās attention. Being authentic and down to earth is so rare that people pick up on. Majority of people follow trends and what they believe will make others happy, not what they truly want to do for themselves. We are all intuitive beings, we can feel that disconnection within ourselves and within others.
Being unique and not following all the trends, being your own person, is beautiful. Thatās what makes you stand out, thatās what makes people feel drawn to you and remember you for years to come. Not that you were āhotā like every other woman at the time. Being your own person, that is what excites peopleās soul. Itās different than the same old energy everyone has suppressed themselves to become.
Learn to be you, for you. ā”
