Obtaining our desire is temporary happiness.

The excitement and passion in pursuit of achieving or gaining something new into our lives that we believe we need to make our lives better or easier.

We realize once we obtain or achieve the item or experience, the thrill slowly diminishes. And we somehow end up wanting more. Something bigger, something better, something new.

When we practice contentment with what we have, we no longer take more than what we need. We live in the absence of greed. We free ourselves from physical possessions. We no longer depend upon external sources to cultivate happiness within.
