Sunset

I’ve watched a thousand sunsets across this lake

Watched the day fade away, marveling at nature’s dazzling display of colors across the sky

Watch that sun set over the horizon countless times

Appreciated its beauty but never with the depth understanding that it would come to an end

Never with the ounce of worry that this could be my last time

until it was

the last time I got to see that beautiful sun set across the lake I called home
