Animals are our Friends, not Food
We are all creatures of Mother Nature cohabiting on this single planet in an everlasting cosmos. Who knows what other life is out there. We should be looking out and caring for each other, instead of minimizing and slaughtering another who have the same right to live on this planet as we do.
Humans have no rights over animals. They are not our property, they are not only for our personal benefit. Weāve become accustomed to the thought that humans are superior. That we can use and abuse animals whenever we so choose. That every other living creatureās life on this planet doesnāt matter in comparison to our own. That we can take and take with no consequences or even sympathy that we are destroying otherās lives and environments.
I decided to become a vegetarian when I was ten after watching a documentary called Glass Walls. When kids at school would ask me why I choose to eat differently, it was the simple fact that I love animals. Nine out of ten responses were and always are: āWell yeah, me too, but I donāt think about it because itāll upset meā or āI just ignore the fact that Iām eating themā. This baffles me. How can you claim to love animals if you eat them?
You are what you eat. If you put in your body a soul that has been traumatized, tormented, and stressed out due to death, you inherently acquire their emotions. When you eat natural fruits and vegetables directly from the ground of the earth, you feel more connected to yourself, to nature, and therefore the world around you. You become more intuned with your intuition and surroundings.
We, and everything around us, are all connected. We must learn to eat for each other, not from each other. If you ālove animalsā so much, think about their lives. You could save an animal each and every day you make a personal decision in what you put into your body. You can start to become a better person for yourself, to eat and live for others and not only for your own selfish reasons. Youāll positively impact the environment and other lives around you. Every life matters. Your gut will thank you along with all the lil furry friends youāll be saving.
