YTT Reflection

I completed my 200 hour yoga teacher training in Costa Rica and I loved every moment of it.

It was by no means perfect or blissful, but it was real, and that's all I could've ask for. I crave honesty in life. The older I become, the more I realize how beautiful simplicity is.

This program pushed me out of my comfort zone in many different aspects as we were challenged both mentally and physically everyday. Despite being challenged, we created a safe space to communicate our needs, to cry/release to another, and to recognize our own projections as merely reflections for our own inner self. The women in my group helped me remember what genuine love is supposed to feel like as they have given and showed me love without any expectations. They accepted me for who I truly was without having to wear any mask or sugar coating.

I experienced a few things for the first time on this trip like solo traveling, ecstatic dance, a women's circle, swimming freely in the river, dancing in the rain, different ceremonies such as full moon, beach bonfire release, and some scared medicine fun. Costa Rica in general is so abundant and pure, things grow easily and plentiful here. It's easy to recognize the pura vida lifestyle and it truly is all that simple. I'm so appreciative of the opportunity to learn more in depth about this personal life-changing practice and about myself. Iā€™ve had a lot of realizations and shifts in perspective. I couldn't have imagined this experience to be so healing and transformative š–„ø
